The Tatra banka Foundation supports in the period from 1.10. 2018 - 15.11. 2019 project of HRL called Asylum Clinic. As part of the project, a lawyer and associate attorney will focus on analyzing current modern trends in teaching asylum clinics around the world. They will personally visit selected law schools in the Czech Republic, namely in Prague, Brno and Olomouc, as well as in the Netherlands, in Amsterdam, which deal with clinical education in the field of asylum. The collected materials and information are processed into the “Methodology of the Management of the Asylum Law Clinic” and presented to the management of the Faculty of Law of the University of Trnava in order to implement it. In particular, the methodology of the management of the Asylum Law Clinic should address the issues of teaching methods and standards, the link between theoretical training and practice, the basic rules for providing legal aid to refugees and migrants, the ethical principles of working with refugees, and so on. The aim of the project is to establish cooperation with selected asylum law clinics, to identify and process the latest methods and trends in teaching students in the field of clinical education in the world, contributing to better and more innovative education of students in the area of asylum and migration, as well as to support the professional development of educators teaching clinics within the faculty, as well as HRL. Graduates of the Asylum Law Clinic at the Faculty of Law of the Trnava University in Trnava could in the future be employed as employees of the Migration Office of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic, senior judicial officers / judges, lawyers providing legal assistance to refugees, experts on migration and asylum in international organizations EU institutions, etc.
